The Waterville Police Department, the Whitehouse Police Department, and the Waterville Township Police Department will be holding our first Anthony Wayne Area Citizens Police Academy. The CPA is open to adults, age 18 and over, who live or work in the Anthony Wayne area.
The CPA provides the opportunity for participants to have a unique look into the inner-workings of their police agencies, and to learn what it takes to police in our modern society. During the 10-week course, officers from each agency, and members of the judiciary, will educate participants on the various job duties through classroom lecture and hands-on activities. The goal of the CPA is not to make citizens police officers, but to enhance relations between the police and the citizens we serve.
Participants meet on Thursday evenings, beginning September 14, 2017, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, at the Waterville Fire Department Meeting Room. Participants will receive training in subject areas such as police use of force, investigations, first aid, traffic radar, police canines, and the courts.
CPA Applications are available in person at any of the police departments listed below or by clicking here AWACPA Application
There are a limited number of participant seats available. Applications will be accepted until August 15, 2017, or until all seats are filled.
