Tree Commission Seminar

April 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

The Whitehouse Tree Commission will host a seminar on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 am, at the Whitehouse Municipal Building, 6925 Providence Street, called Lichen Insights, Never Look at Your Tree the Same Way Again. Janet Traub, a member of Ohio Moss and Lichen Association and the Whitehouse Tree Commission, will talk about lichens on our trees.

The Urban Forestry Section of the Division of Forestry of ODNR says that questions from homeowners regarding lichens on their trees are common. What are lichens and what are the various forms they take? Over the ages the understanding of lichens has followed an interesting path, sometimes charged with high emotions from the differing camps. With up-to-date information, we will learn about lichens’ relationships with trees.

This seminar is FREE and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.
