Mayoral Recognitions

Whitehouse Police Chief Mark McDonough was recently recognized by Mayor Don Atkinson for extraordinary achievements.

Chief McDonough has been instrumental in creating and initiating new programs in Whitehouse, including “Coffee With a Cop”, the AW Area Citizens Police Academy and AW Area Drug Stoppers Program, the Whitehouse Senior Contact Program and installation of an Internet Sales Meet Up Spot in the parking lot.  He has also updated the Whitehouse PD policies and procedures, Field Training Program, Records Management System, and department recruitment and in-service training programs.

Chief McDonough holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, graduated from the FBI National Academy, Police Executive Leadership College, and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.  He is a member of the FBI National Academy Associates, International, National and Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, Metropolitan Toledo Criminal Justice Administrators Association, Lucas County OVI Task Force, Lucas County Coalition of Organizations Protecting Elders, Maumee Municipal Court Domestic Violence Task Force, and the Wood County FOP Lodge.
