At the Whitehouse Village Council Meeting on December 21, 2021, Mayor Don Atkinson recognized Erin Tytko and Elissa Duck for their charitable civic service through the Buy Nothing community Facebook page. The Buy Nothing Whitehouse/Waterville/Monclova Ohio page encourages members to share and gift items with their community to help build generosity and neighborliness. Both Erin and Elissa work full time jobs, Erin with the Attorney General’s Office and Elissa with RE/MAX Preferred, and moderate and run the page in their spare time.
